Natural Fertility Enhancement Program

At Health Blossoms we provide a nurturing space along with experience, expertise and compassion to guide you on your journey to create a family.

Naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and ATMAT® are effective at enhancing fertility. These non-invasive therapies gently bring the body into balance and nourish the body and mind to create an environment conducive for conception and a healthy pregnancy. Through research or clinical evidence these modalities have been shown to be effective at optimizing fertility. Based on your health history, menstrual history, environmental toxin exposure history and functional assessments we will customize a program that addresses the underlying conditions that may be preventing successful conception. This program will be geared towards your pregnancy goals whether you are seeking a natural pregnancy or employing assisted reproductive technology (ART). Natural fertility enhancement may be considered for pre conception, natural conception, or to prepare for IVF or other ART.

Length of program:

The length of the program will vary depending on fertility goals and underlying health concerns. Based on folliculogenesis, we recommend 3 months up to 1 year. Folliculogenesis is the process that starts with a recruited primordial follicle that develops into a Graafian or antral follicle. This process takes about 1 year, starting with the recruitment of a primordial follicle with an immature egg to the development of a primary follicle, secondary follicle with a mature egg, tertiary follicle and ultimately the Graafian or antral follicle. The antral follicle has the potential to release the egg resulting in ovulation.

It takes about 3-4 months for the egg to mature as it develops from the primary to the secondary follicle. This is a key time to influence hormonal balance and the egg quality and count. To benefit from the methods of natural fertility enhancement, we recommend at least a 3 months program for women choosing natural conception or to prepare for ART. This also allows for time to do a detox, to improve nutrition, incorporate stress relief self care, and get on an exercise routine for fertility. It is never too early to start preparing for pregnancy and a healthy baby!

For male factor infertility, we also recommend a 3 months program. Spermatogenesis or the production of sperm takes about 3 months. With a 3 months program, the sperm count, motility, and morphology may improve from the modalities of natural fertility enhancement. This also allows for time to explore other issues that may be impacting male fertility such as adrenal hormone imbalance, overweight, or exposure to environmental toxins and to address the particular concern with the appropriate plan.
